TENNESSEANS WARNED TO WATCH OUT FOR “OLD SCHOOL THIEVES”

The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security along with the Tennessee Highway Patrol Identity Crimes Unit want to remind you not to forget about the old-school thief. He/she is still out there. In today’s high-tech world, the focus has been turned to protecting identities digitally, and sometimes we neglect to guard against traditional methods. Some thieves take advantage of this by stealing documents from mailboxes or trash. Remember to shred all documents containing personal identifiers and if you still pay bills by mailing checks, take them to the post office instead of putting them in your mailbox.
