TRAGEDY IN CROSSVILLE – TWO DEAD, ONE WOUNDED IN BUS GARAGE SHOOTING

A shooting at the school bus garage on Genesis Road in Crossville left two dead and the shooter injured this afternoon.

Crossville police first received a report of shots fired at the county school garage at 2:27 p.m. central time. The first officer, Detective Captain Kendall Hargis arrived on scene just two minutes later.

Crossville Police Interim Chief Chris Kendrick told 105.7 News that the shooting incident was over by the time the first officer arrived on scene.

One female and two males were found on the ground in the parking lot between two school buses with gunshot wounds and were unresponsive.

The TBI and district attorney’s office were notified at 2:35 p.m. central of the incident and responded to the scene.

Crossville Fire Department emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene at 2:31 p.m. central and immediately began life saving efforts.

LifeForce 2 was launched at 2:34 p.m. central and later landed at the helipad at Cumberland Medical Center to fly out one adult male to Chattanooga.

One female was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting and the second male passed away at the emergency room of Cumberland Medical Center.

The condition of the male flown out, who is believed to be the shooter, is presently unknown. Initial reports say the shooter discharged the weapon on himself after the other two were shot.

TBI spokesman Josh Devine told 105.7 News that they are presently working to identify the ones involved in today’s tragic shooting and notify their families.

The nature of the shooting remains unclear at this time.

The Cumberland County District Attorney General’s office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have been notified and are currently involved in the investigation.
