TWO MEN ARRESTED FOR MYRTLE ACRES BRAWL
On Friday last week, Officer Jacob Ogle responded to the area of Myrtle Acres Lane about a fight. Upon arriving the officer made contact with Angel Barrientes who was standing in the yard covered in blood with visible marks on his face.
Officer Henson knocked on the door of the residence and made contact with another man by the name of Juan Cruz who had a swollen black eye.
A large amount of blood was observed on the scene, so officers performed a safety check in the residence to verify there were no other injured people.
Due to a language barrier, officers used translators to speak with a subjects. Both men stated several times to officers that there were no problems and that the officers should just leave.
However, officers were able to figure out that both of the men lived within the house and were roommates. A fight had apparently occurred between the two of them, but both men insisted it was just friends being friends.
Due to a lack of evidence to determine who the primary instigator was, both were arrested for domestic assault and also the belief that the violence would continue if something wasn’t done while officers were on scene.
