TWRA WARNS AGAINST PICKING UP ANIMALS IN THE WILD
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has issued a warning to residents after a woman took a bobcat home that she thought was injured. Agents said that the woman found what she believed to be an injured bobcat on the side of a road. She reportedly picked up the animal and took it to her home to care for. However, the animal recovered sometime in the night and became what the TWRA called “unmanageable.” The agency was able to remove the animal from the woman’s laundry room safely. They then released it back into the wild. The agency says to not pick up an injured or “orphaned” wild animal.
