VEHICLE SLAMS INTO HEADSTONES AT CROSSVILLE CITY CEMETERY

Crossville police responded Saturday to the city cemetery where a vehicle struck several headstones. The driver, 19-year-old Mario M. Juan of Crossville, told police his tires popped causing him to lose control of the vehicle on Cook Road resulting in the vehicle entering the cemetery. However, officers detected a scent of alcohol coming from Juan. A blood sample was obtained from Juan and the report states if the alcohol level comes back in an illegal range, the case will be presented to a grand jury. Juan was cited for failure to exercise due care and failure to provide proof of insurance.
