Vertie (Bill) W. McNeeley, Jr., age 85, of Crossville passed away November 20, 2017. He served in the Army and retired with honorable discharge from the Air Force. He received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Church of God since 1968 and founded Crossville Community Church (formerly Country Church). He is survived by his wife: Patricia McNeeley; daughters: Kathy McNeeley, Tabitha McNeeley and Terri La’Gere; son: Steve McNeeley; grandchildren: Jonathan McNeeley, Jaime Grainger, Lee Eddings, Ashley Eddings, Amber McNeeley, Brandon Kerley and Blake Bowman; great-grandchildren: Lorin McNeeley, Cashas Grainger, Josey Grainger, Tayslee Eddings, Talon Kerley and Chase Kerley; sisters: Mossie, Nancy, Patsy, Sue, and Jerri; and brothers: Don, Benny, Robert, David and Daniel. Funeral services will be held Saturday November 25, 2017 at noon from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11 am to noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Crossville City Cemetery.
