Volunteers are asked to come out to the Kingston American Legion post this weekend to help remove damaged items in the building from a flood that took place earlier this week. Anyone willing to help is asked to be at the building starting at noon eastern Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 828 East Race Street in Kingston. Heavy rains belted Roane County last Monday resulting in numerous areas of the county experiencing flooding. Several feet of water accumulated in the lower level of the Kingston American Legion that ruined furniture, appliances and other items. Officials say they will have to start from scratch in renovating the inside of the building. All that are able to help this Saturday are invited to come out.
