WILDFIRE NEAR OLIVER SPRINGS GROWS TO 500 ACRES

The Tennessee Division of Forestry says a forest fire outside Oliver Springs has grown to over 500 acres. The cause of the wildfire is under investigation. So far no structures have been in danger and crews have the fire contained. The fire is burning about seven miles northwest of Oliver Springs and a few miles outside Petros. Firefighters will remain on the scene to ensure it does not break containment. Dry conditions continue in the area adding to the danger of fires breaking out. Rain is scheduled to enter into the listening area tomorrow (Thursday, November 30, 2017) and a better chance of rain early next week.
