WOMAN CHARGED WITH SHOPLIFTING AFTER TRYING TO SELL ITEMS ON FACEBOOK

A Crossville woman has been charged with shoplifting after she tried to peddle the missing items on a social media site. According to the police report, the owner of the Classy Closet told officers that a male and female entered the store and proceeded to conceal jeans, tennis shoes and a pair of Justin Boots. They then left the store without paying for the merchandise. The incident was captured on video. Later that day, officers were called back to the store after the owner heard a report that the boots had been observed on Facebook for sale. Officers were shown the Facebook page of 35-year-old Misty Howard, and in fact, the boots were viewed with the original price tag still on them. The video of Howard was also given to police and a warrant for shoplifting was issued for her.
