BBBTV12 – Authorities are investigating the discovery of what are believed to be human skeletal remains behind the KFC restaurant in Harriman. The remains were uncovered by utility workers who were clearing brush and trees in the area.

Roane County Medical Examiner Dr. Tom Boduch responded to the scene and has ordered an autopsy to be conducted at the UT Forensics Center once the remains are recovered. The Roane County Ambulance Service will transport the remains for further examination.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has been notified and will assist the Harriman Police Department in identifying the remains and determining the circumstances surrounding the individual’s death.
