The Crossville City Council decided to postpone beginning work on downtown sidewalk upgrades until after more discussion is held at an upcoming work session. City Manager Greg Wood told the council that the Tennessee Dept. of Transportation has approved the permit for work, but the city is still waiting for the National Environmental Protection Act certification. The question was also raised as to where the work should begin: at the intersection of Main St. and Lantana Rd. or at Meacham St? The council agreed that the city sidewalk crew should begin on the job but Street Supervisor Kevin Music told the council that his group was already working in the area of Centennial Park, and that needed to be finished. The council decided to continue the discussion in the work session which is scheduled for Thursday, April 20.
