CROSSVILLE CITY COUNCIL TABLES BUDGET AMENDMENT FOR GARRISON PARK RENOVATIONS
The Crossville City Council is questioning its’ actions concerning the renovations at Garrison Park. The council previously approved the contract for an LPRF Grant for the redevelopment of the park, which would include the addition of a splash pad, walking area and new basketball court. Phase one of the plan would also require the perimeter fence to be torn down and then reinstalled later. Council Member Danny Wyatt said that he saw no reason for the “perfectly good fencing” to be torn down in the first place. He said that by his calculations, it would cost $100,000 to replace the fence. Wyatt then made a motion to table the resolution amending the 2016-17 budget for the park’s renovations until such time as someone could give him a good reason to tear the fence down. The motion passed unanimously.
