CROSSVILLE MAN CHARGED WITH PUBLIC INTOXICATION

Crossville police were summoned early this morning (Wednesday, June 13, 2018) to a Brookside Drive apartment for a report of an unwanted man knocking on the door and trying to pick the lock. Officers reportedly found 39-year-old Douglas Jason Queen of Crossville, who had slurred speech, watery eyes and a distinct odor of alcohol about him. Queen was Mirandized and officers asked how much he’d had to drink, to which he reportedly replied, “Enough.” The woman whose apartment he was attempting to enter said she briefly dated Queen, who showed up drunk and unwanted. She said he texted her repeatedly after she told him to leave her alone. According to the police report, Queen stated he’d been drinking in his vehicle in the parking lot. A consent search of his vehicle revealed an empty vodka bottle. Queen was arrested for public intoxication and, at the woman’s request, was banned from the Brookside Drive residence.
