CROSSVILLE MAN FACES DRUG AND WEAPONS CHARGES

Crossville Police were called to Speedway on Genesis Rd. Sunday for a pickup truck that had been parked at a gasoline pump for an unusual amount of time. The driver of the 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 Extended Cab truck had to be awakened from behind the wheel. Christopher E. Howard of Crossville was reportedly incoherent and could not produce an ID at first, but officers did find a fully loaded and cocked .38 handgun between the drivers side and middle seat of the truck. Two digital scales were discovered with drug residue and a folded plastic baggy with approximately 3.2 grams of methamphetamine. After Howard was taken to the Cumberland County Justice Center Intake, officers found three prescription pills, a glass pipe and $940 in a personal search. Howard was charged with DUI along with drug and weapons violations.
