CROSSVILLE NAMED IN TOP 8 RETIREMENT DESTINATIONS IN NATIONAL MAGAZINE

Crossville, TN, has been selected a top retirement destination by Where to Retire, a magazine geared toward helping people with retirement relocation decisions. Crossville is profiled in a feature titled “8 Tax-Friendly Cities” in the January/February 2018 issue, available nationwide on Dec. 12.

Where to Retire Editor Annette Fuller said many relocating retirees consider taxes when making their move and with its mountain views and the Cumberland County Playhouse, Crossville paints an overall rosy picture, with a lesser tax bite.

Each year, 700,000 Americans relocate to new towns to retire. Generally, relocating retirees are healthier, better educated and more affluent than those who choose to not relocate. They bring significant economic benefits to their new states and hometowns. Nationally, two dozen states and hundreds of towns seek to attract retirees as a source of economic development.

The 8 Praiseworthy Low-Cost Cities: Aiken, SC; Athens, GA; Crossville, TN; Natchitoches, LA; Oxford, MS; Reno, NV; Stuart, FL; and Wickenburg, AZ.
