DEMONSTRATION TO TAKE PLACE AT PROPOSED SHOOTING PARK LOCATION SATURDAY
Several eyes and ears will be turned to the Albert Frye Rd. area in Cumberland County Saturday morning. It’s in connection with the proposed Crossville Shooting Sports Park. The main opponents of the park, residents and property owners within the area, say that their concerns are the park’s location and the noise factor. City Mayor James Mayberry stated earlier this week that he wanted to take a group of shooters to the location and check decibel levels. However, those opposed say that their main objection is not to the park but to the location. City Officials and representatives from the TWRA and non-profit group, Crossville Shooting Park Inc, will be on hand. The TWRA is footing the bill for the project from a $2.2 million grant while CSPI will oversee the park’s operation. The event is set to begin at 10 AM.
