The Knoxville Police Department is searching for a woman who assaulted an 80-year-old woman and attempted to rob her in the parking lot of Kroger on North Broadway. The victim told police she was approached by the suspect, who supposedly wanted to talk. The victim told the suspect she didn’t want to talk and tried to get inside her car to get away from the suspect. That’s when officers say the suspect attacked the victim, grabbing her arms to the point of breaking the skin, then spraying the victim in the face with some kind of mace. A bystander stopped the attack, and the suspect fled on foot. The victim was taken to a hospital where she was treated for serious injuries to her arms. The suspect is described as a white female, 5’5″ tall with blondish-gray hair and possibly green eyes.
