FARMERS MARKET PAVILION COMING TO RIVERFRONT PARK IN HARRIMAN

A new farmers market pavilion is scheduled to be built at Riverfront Park in Harriman in the next couple of days. City Manager Kevin Helms told members of the Harriman City Council last night (Tuesday, June 20, 2017) the shipment of the 60 by 100 foot steel structure is to start today (Wednesday, June 21, 2017) and it will take about 4 to 6 days to get here. The city approved the purchase of the pavilion earlier this year with a grant to help offset the cost. The farmers market will be located beside the current covered shed at the north end of the park. The market is now open in the park on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The city will use inmate labor to put the steel structure together which after the foundations are poured for the supports, the work should only take a couple of weeks.
