A house fire last night is currently under investigation by both the Crossville Police Department and Crossville Fire Department. Firefighters responded to the scene at 139 Brookstone Drive off of Cook Road at 9:15 p.m. to see fire coming out of the top of the roof. While working the blaze, a firefighter observed a glass broken on a back door of the home. It was determined that no one had broken the glass to make entry while battling the fire. Once inside, cabinets appeared to have been gone through. Officers say the fire started in a walk-in closet inside the master bedroom. Authorities say no one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported to crews that worked the blaze. Crews returned to the scene around 10 this morning after the fire rekindled to extinguish it again. Estimated damages and loss from the fire was placed at just over $200,000.
