A man who murdered his grandmother was convicted of first degree murder in a Knoxville courtroom Tuesday. William Grant Morgan stabbed the 84-year-old woman to death multiple times and then slit her throat while she was asleep, according to prosecutors. On that morning of June 2, 2011, Morgan is said to have called 911 and told dispatchers about doing the grisly deed. For his crime, Morgan was sentenced to life behind bars.
