MAN REPORTED MISSING FROM GEORGIA DISCOVERED IN DEKALB COUNTY THEN DISAPPEARS

DEKALB COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man first reported missing from Georgia is now missing in Tennessee after he was found by authorities Sunday but later vanished.

According to authorities, troopers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol checked on a car Sunday afternoon just after 3 p.m. after it was found parked on the side of a road near the DeKalb-White County line.

Vincent Rossetti was reportedly inside the car and came up as a missing person out of Georgia.

Troopers called an ambulance to the scene to make sure the 22-year-old was okay. He was transported to the Highland Medical Center in Sparta, and authorities say EMS personnel drove Rossetti’s car to the hospital for him.

According to a press release, Rossetti was treated and released from the hospital before his family could pick him up.

When his family arrived, the White County Sheriff’s Department issued a BOLO, or be on the lookout, for Rossetti to all law enforcement agencies.

About nine hours later just before midnight, the man’s car was found at the Sligo Marina in Smithville. However, Rossetti was nowhere to be found.

The THP conducted a ground search and the DeKalb County Rescue Squad searched the lake’s banks and water the following morning.

Rossetti has yet to be found, and the sheriff says they are actively searching for him.

“We filed a missing person report through the sheriff’s office here in DeKalb County because of his vehicle being found in the Sligo Parking lot. We are not sure if Mr. Rossetti is in the water or not. We have entered Rossetti into the NCIC (National Crime Information Center) as missing. Agencies have searched the banks and water by foot, boat, and air with no luck finding him. The weather has been the enemy last night and today. It has been very cold on everyone,” the sheriff noted in a press release.

When Rossetti was found by the trooper Sunday, he was wearing a blueish green jacket and jeans as well as glasses. He’s 22 years old with blonde hair, and blue eyes. He is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds.

If anyone has seen Rossetti or knows his whereabouts, please contact DeKalb Central Dispatch at 615-215-3000.
