PUBLIC HEARING TO BE HELD IN PICKETT COUNTY REGARDING E-911 SPLIT
The Tennessee Emergency Communications Board ruled today a public hearing will be held in Pickett County before they vote to place the matter of the county having their own E-911 entity on a public referendum. Officials met for nearly four hours today as those involved with the current Overton-Pickett E-911 plead their cases for and against the split. The decision comes after some board members motioned to proceed with Pickett County’s application for its own E-911. However, the motion failed by a vote of 6-2. The motion was then amended to proceed with a public hearing and passed. A meeting date in Pickett County will be announced soon.
