A Cookeville man passed away in a single-vehicle accident early this morning (Friday, September 29, 2017) in Putnam County. Officers say 73-year-old Jim Dagovanos was traveling south on Highway 111 when his Mercedes SUV traveled off the right side of the roadway, hit several trees then struck a dirt embankment and came to rest in a creek bed. Dagovanos was pronounced dead on scene. Officers say he was not restrained at the time of the accident.
