The Tennessee Department of Transportation will halt all lane closure activity on interstates and state highways for the Labor Day holiday travel period. Construction crews will stop all lane closure activity beginning at noon tomorrow (Friday, September 1, 2017) through 5 a.m. Tuesday, September 5. This will provide maximum roadway capacity for motorists traveling during the busy Labor Day holiday. In 2016, the Tennessee Department of Transportation lost three workers in the line of duty. All three were struck by passing motorists. Those tragedies bring the total number of TDOT lives lost to 112.
