A TDOT employee on his way in to work in Crossville lost his life in a single vehicle accident Tuesday morning. The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports that 48-year-old Johnny W. Neal was traveling east on Highway 70 North just after 5 AM, when his 1994 Dodge truck failed to negotiate a left hand curve. The vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway, went over an embankment, and came to rest hitting the opposite embankment. The driver was ejected through the windshield and killed. The investigating trooper stated that Neal was not restrained and that wearing a seatbelt would have made a difference.
