The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be beefing up surveillance of state highways and interstates during the New Year’s Holiday weekend. In an effort to reduce accidents and fatalities, the Tennessee Highway Patrol plans to put as many Troopers on the roads as possible. The THP has scheduled Sobriety Checkpoints in Cumberland County for tonight at Highway 70 and Highway 127. They will hold checkpoints on new Year’s Eve in Roane County on Caney Creek Rd, Cumby Rd, and Walker Cove Rd.
