TRIAL DATE SET FOR ZAEVION DOBSON CASE
A trial date has been set for July 10, 2017, in the Zaevion Dobson murder case. Christopher Bassett and Richard Williams are charged with first-degree murder in the death of the 15-year-old Fulton High football player who was killed in December 2015 after he shielded his friends from gunfire, an act that received national attention. Police said the shots fired were gang related and the victims were picked at random. Bassett and Williams were in court for a status hearing Friday. The next status hearing date is April 28, 2017. Since Zaevion’s death, his mother Zenobia has been an advocate for ending gun violence.
