TWO PEOPLE AIRLIFTED BY LIFESTAR AFTER SATURDAY NIGHT CRASH IN ROANE COUNTY
Two people were airlifted to area trauma centers after a single vehicle accident in Roane County Saturday night. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says that shortly before 10 PM, a 1996 Dodge pickup driven by Jacob D. Edwards of Spring City, was traveling south on Highway 322 near Paint Rock Valley Rd. when he lost control, traveled off the roadway and down an embankment. The vehicle then went airborne, struck a tree and came to rest on the opposite side of the road. Edwards, who was 18 years of age, and a passenger, 20-year-old James M. Sitzler of Kingston, were both injured and had to be transported by Lifestar to UT Medical Center. Their condition is unknown, and according to the trooper’s report, neither was wearing a seatbelt.
