VICTIM RESTRAINS SUSPECTED BURGLAR FOR DEPUTIES

A Roane County resident assisted authorities with apprehending a burglar Friday. Deputies answered the call of a burglary-in-progress at 239 Main Hollow Rd. When they arrived, officers found a man, later identified as the victim, holding the would-be burglar on the ground. 35-year-old Bradley Scott Webb of Philadelphia, TN, was restrained, and a male juvenile at the scene told deputies that the man restraining him was his grandfather. The victim said that he and his grandson were cleaning a dog kennel when they heard a noise from behind the garage. It was then they discovered Webb using a pry bar to open a seat area of a motor scooter, which had been inside the building. After a short foot chase, the victim caught Webb and a scuffle began. According to the report, Webb confessed to taking the vehicle. Webb was also in possession of a magna-lite flashlight and change that had been taken from the victim’s Toyota pickup. Damage was also noted to the garage exterior door. Webb was taken to the Roane County Jail without further incident. He faces two counts of burglary, theft of property, vandalism and aggravated assault.
