WIND CHILL ADVISORY

We have a wind chill advisory in effect through Monday morning for windchill indexes as low as 8 below at night and in the single digits during the day. High temperatures will only be in the low 20s for the next couple of afternoons and we will drop into the single digits Sunday night and between 0 and 5 degrees Monday night. We will not get above freezing on the plateau probably until next weekend. This is an unusually long period of time to be below freezing so beginning Sunday night it will be a good idea to leave your faucets dripping overnight because if your water freezes it might not thaw out for days. We still have very little in the way of precipitation to talk about for the next week, dry and very cold is the story. This will be one of the coldest New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day in many years and I will have some statistics on that for you Sunday. As you see I just don’t have much good to say so I will just end it by saying Happy New Year!
