FOUR INJURED IN WRONG WAY ACCIDENT IN STRAWBERRY PLAINS

Four people were injured in a three vehicle accident last night in Strawberry Plains as a result of a wrong way driver. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says the accident happened at the intersection of Highway 11E and Elmwood Drive just before 9 last night. Troopers say a 2004 Chevy Silverado driven by 48-year-old John J. Bachrach of Knoxville accidentally turned southbound into northbound lanes of travel. Bacharach struck a 2015 Chrysler driven by 31-year-old Joshua E. Howard of Talbott and a 2008 Kia operated by 25-year-old Zachary Beard of Jefferson City, Tennessee.

A passenger on Bachrach’s truck, 31-year-old Casey Holder, as well as the drivers of all three vehicles were taken to U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville for treatment of injuries.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol cited Bachrach for failure to exercise due care and driving the wrong way.
