Loudon County authorities received a call today that a suspicious person was in the area of 6333 Highway 411 in Greenback. While heading to the scene, Deputy Charles Huskin was notified of a stolen Dodge truck at Vulcan Materials near the original call. Witnesses stated a Caucasian male had just stolen the truck and was still on the property in the woods. The vehicle was located approximately 100 yards in the woods with no driver. A perimeter was established and a short time later Investigator Marty Stanley and deputies encountered Joshua Roberts exiting the woods who was wearing a jacket belonging to the victim of the stolen truck. Witnesses identified the male as the one stealing the truck. Roberts was transported to the jail and charges are pending of felony theft and trespassing. The Blount County Sheriffs Office and Vonore Police Department also assisted in the incident.
