The Crossville Police Department released an accident report today (Monday, September 25, 2017) of a single vehicle crash that took place just after 3 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017. Officers and medical first responders went to the scene at the 900^th block of Sparta Highway where a 2015 Toyota SUV driven by 63-year-old Arthur Lee Mells of Brooklyn, New York flipped on its top. Mells had to be extracted from the wreckage. Police detected a strong odor of alcohol on Mells and when asked who the president was and where he was, Mells reportedly replied “Bush” and “the state of Memphis.” Mells was arrested and charged with DUI.
