PRELIMINARY HEARING HELD TODAY FOR CHATTANOOGA SCHOOL BUS DRIVER

A Grand Jury has bound over the case involving a Chattanooga school bus crash which killed six children and injured several others. 24-year-old Johnthony Walker took the stand Thursday during the hearing where he has been charged with five counts of vehicular homicide, reckless driving and reckless endangerment. Police officers testified that evidence was present that revealed that the bus had been speeding between 50-52 mph prior to the crash. The speed limit on the road where the wreck took place was 30 mph. The judge ruled to find an element of recklessness had been established. Walker’s attorney says that he will plead not guilty if indicted.
