ROANE COUNTY GIRL RECOVERING AFTER BEING HIT BY VEHICLE

A Roane County young lady is slowly recovering in a regional hospital after being hit by a vehicle. The mother of 12-year-old Loretta Ketterer told 105.7 News tonight (Thursday, September 28, 2017) that Loretta was riding a mini motorcycle and came upon the intersection of Renfro Road and White Road in Harriman when a vehicle hit her. She was airlifted to UT Medical Center in Knoxville then transferred to children’s hospital for treatment. Loretta sustained multiple broken bones on her left side. Her foot and ankle were crushed, the bones shattered and a tear in one lung, and road rash on her right side. Loretta’s mother said doctors are preparing to do surgery on her foot and ankle. The great news is that there was no head, neck or back trauma and no serious internal injuries. Loretta is an honor student at Harriman Middle School. A report of the accident has not been released yet by authorities.
