Harriman Police have a robbery suspect in custody. A report was issued early Sunday morning that there had been a strong-arm robbery at the Rocky Top Market on Roane St. The employee told officers that a male entered the business, chose items and while he was making the purchase, reached across the counter and grabbed cash from the open register. There was a brief struggle between the man and employee before the suspect was able to escape with the money. A preliminary investigation identified the suspect as 38-year-old Jamie Poland and a BOLO was announced. Poland’s vehicle was identified and stopped and he was taken into custody with evidence from the robbery being found.
