RICKY DEWAYNE YOUNG ARRESTED FOR AGGRAVATED BURGLARY AND VANDALISM
On May 19, 2025, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to an incident on Turner Road in Crossville, involving a burglary and vandalism. The suspect, Ricky Dewayne Young, aged 39, allegedly damaged a 2023 Ford Ranger owned by a 79-year-old resident by striking the vehicle’s hood and driver’s fender with a piece of rebar, causing approximately $1,636.05 in damages.
The vehicle sustained visible dents and marks. While deputies searched for Young, who had fled the scene, a second 911 call reported a man entering a residence on Turner Road, owned by a 78-year-old woman. Young had entered the woman’s home uninvited after she offered him water and instructed him to wait on the porch.
When he saw a patrol car approaching, he hid inside, ignoring Cobb’s requests to leave. Deputies, led by Sgt. Jason Powers, located and arrested Young on-site at 13:55. He faces charges of aggravated burglary and vandalism, with damages valued between $1,000 and $2,500, and is scheduled for a court appearance on June 16, 2025, with bonds set at $12,000 for burglary and $5,000 for vandalism.
